Merge PDF
Drag PDFs in, reorder them, then merge. Everything happens locally — nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Drop two or more PDF files into the upload area, or click to browse from your device.
- Drag the file pills to reorder them — the final PDF follows the order you set.
- Remove any file you didn't mean to add by clicking the remove button on its row.
- Click 'Merge PDFs' to combine them into a single document.
- Download the merged PDF immediately. Nothing was ever uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
No artificial limit. Because merging happens in your browser, the only ceiling is your device's RAM. Most laptops handle dozens of files totalling a few hundred megabytes without issue.
Will merging preserve bookmarks, links, and form fields?
Yes. We use pdf-lib under the hood, which copies all page-level content including hyperlinks, annotations, form fields, and embedded fonts. The merged document keeps every page exactly as it was in the source.
Are my files uploaded to your server?
Never. The entire merge runs in JavaScript inside your browser tab. We have no server-side processing for free tools — your files never leave your computer.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Unlock them first using our Unlock PDF tool (with the password you have), then merge the unlocked copies. The merged file can be re-protected with our Protect PDF tool afterwards.
Does merging compress the output?
Not automatically — the merged file is roughly the sum of the inputs. If you need a smaller result, run it through our Compress PDF tool after merging.
